Aaron Paul Joins Season 3 Of ‘Westworld’ | TV News

Aaron Paul has signed on to join the cast of HBO’s Westworld for the show’s third season. The three-time Emmy winner will reportedly be a series regular, but there’s no word yet on who the former Breaking Bad star will be playing, nor whether he’s a host or a human.

Paul joins the show at an intriguing time, as the second season concluded with another layer of Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy‘s puzzle box getting peeled back. Joy has already teased the upcoming season being unlike anything that came before:

“This series is about reinvention and scope. The first season was a more intimate look at the park from within the loops. In the second season, the hosts broke out of their loops and were able to explore more of the park. In the third season, they’ve broken out of the park itself.

We’re in terra incognita. From the beginning, when Jonah and I were thinking about the series as far back as the pilot, we knew we wanted to explore other worlds in the park, and we also knew the one world we would start to see little glimpses of throughout the first two seasons was the real world, and that we would get there eventually — and when we did, it would be a whole new experience”.

It’s the latest high profile TV role for Paul, who is also going to be seen alongside Octavia Spencer in Apple’s upcoming anthology series, Are You Sleeping? However because of the anthology format of the show, most of the cast currently only have one-year deals for the season one story arc. Like most of Apple’s in-development shows, it’s currently unclear when that will premiere.
