Abbey Lee In Talks To Play Female Lead In ‘The Dark Tower’ | Film News
Deadline has reported that Mad Max: Fury Road star Abbey Lee is in talks to join the big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. If she does, she will be in extremely good company; Idris Elba is on board to play gunslinger Roland Deschain, and Matthew McConaughey will portray the villainous Man in Black.
Lee has been offered the part of Tirana, a character that doesn’t enter the series until the seventh volume. She will however be making her first appearance in the first film, and from the sound of things, she will be playing a major part. Tirana has been described as “sexy and dangerous” with “fake human skin and cold snake-like eyes”.
The Dark Tower will reportedly be based on the first book in the series, The Gunslinger. In which the relationship between Roland and his young protege Jack Chambers is established and explored. The next big role to be cast is the role of Chambers. So stay tuned!
