Actor Michael Cera Releases Indie/Folk Album ‘true that’ | Film News
Canadian actor Michael Cera, who has starred in Juno, Scott Pilgrim vs The World and Superbad, has now released his own musical album consisting of eighteen tracks. His co-star Jonah Hill recently tweeted that Cera is “not only is a brilliant actor, he also makes great music”, including a link to Cera’s Bandcamp page, where you can purchase his music for only $7.
Most songs appear to be instrumental in their approach, mixing several instruments together such as the piano and guitar. Cera’s vocals would not best be described as stunning, but neither were the vocals of Bob Dylan who is now held in high regard. Some songs on the album, though, are nothing short of amazing. His cover of Blaze Foley’s “Clay Pigeons” is serenely wonderful, and his own tracks are interestingly experimental. Well worth checking out, you can listen to the full album below, and buy it here.
