Back in May, this video, shot in Compton, was apparently put on hold for gang related disturbances. Nobody was injured, killed or arrested, and two months after that incident, AD and YG have finished the visuals for “Thug”.
“Thug” is foreboding, opening with shouty raps and the clap and rattle of the drum. The latter also has the clink of a Colgate cartoon smile, as if to be iced up with innumerable pieces of jewellery.
The Born Original-directed features Angela Yee commenting upon the aforementioned shooting. There appears to be shots of Crip and Blood gang members throwing up gang signs amongst much bling and cars.
