Aidan Turner’s Shirtless Scything Wins Him TV Moment of 2015 | TV News
It may be nine months since Aidan Turner graced our screens as the dashing Ross Poldark in BBC1’s hit series, but the viewers certainly haven’t forgotten!
2015’s remake of the popular 1970s series, Poldark based on the Winston Graham novels earned high praise for its talented performances, intriguing plotlines and stunning Cornish scenery. But most of its fans were more interested in the devilishly handsome star and one scene in particular, in which Turner strips down to tend to his garden had many viewers reaching for the smelling salts!
Closely behind in The Radio Times poll for the best TV moment of 2015 was Jay McGuiness‘s Pulp Fiction style jive with dancer partner, Aliona Vilani in Strictly Come Dancing. It won him the first ten of the series in only week three of the competition and currently has 1,529,156 YouTube hits, but it still wasn’t enough to topple Aidan Turner off the top spot, winning 43% of the votes to Poldark‘s 45%.
Aidan Turner’s gardening technique beat many memorable TV moments including Peter Capaldi‘s powerful anti-war speech in Doctor Who: The Zygon Inversion, Nadiya Hussain’s victory speech in The Great British Bake Off and that shocking Game Of Thrones moment.
