Kennedy-center-Honors

The brightest and greatest celebrated for influencing American culture throughout their lives. This years Kennedy Centre Honours have been announced. Amongst them include Godfather actor Al Pacino, pianist Martha Argerich, blues singer Mavis Staples, James Taylor, and rock band The Eagles, the ceremony set to be broadcast on CBS on the 27th of December.

For two of the honours, the award may be overdue; The Eagles were set to be honoured last year, but delayed it due to the health of band co-founder Glenn Frey, who passed away in January. For Pacino, many of his peers have already taken the prize, including Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson, and Robert Redford so his receiving of the reward is overdue.
