Alejandro González Iñárritu Wins The Directors Guild Of America Award | Film News

67th Annual Directors Guild Of America Awards - Show

Celebrations all round as Alejandro González Iñárritu has won the Directors Guild Of America (DGA) Award for The Revenant. It’s the second year in a row that Iñárritu has taken home the award, scooping the prize last year for Birdman.

He now joins the esteemed company of Francis Ford Coppola, Ron Howard and Clint Eastwood, who all also have 2 DGAs to their names. Only Steven Spielberg has gone one better so far, and is the recipient of 3 of these awards. This new win has put Iñárritu in prime position to win the Best Director award at this year’s upcoming Oscars, on February 28.
