Alex Jones And Matt Baker Swap Sides As ‘BBC Breakfast’ Sexist Row Rumbles On | TV News

Sexism is something never to joke about, but there are moments when the sheer pettiness of the allegation just makes one’s eyes roll 360 degrees. This time around, the allegations of sexism and misogyny are around…who sits to the left or right of each other on furniture.

That’s right, Alex Jones swapped places with co-host Matt Baker on The One Show sofa in a nod to the ongoing row over the positioning of BBC Breakfast presenters Dan Walker and Louise Minchin.

Walker’s position to the LEFT of Minchin after Bill Turnbull stepped down from the show has sparked a sexism row, the root of the anger being the decision to hand Walker, who is far less experienced than his co-host a supposedly more prestigious spot. There was a time when being labelled Sexist meant something, not now it seems.

Jones said on the show:

“Some of you may be freaked out because we’ve just swapped sides because of the news this morning that the male presenter always sits on the left so we thought we’d change it up”.
