We’re drawing close to the end of March, which means there’s still eight months left before you can start cranking up your radios to hear Michael Bublé and Bing Crosby fill the air with their smooth holiday tunes. But for the queen of the holiday, Christmas seems to be a lot closer than for the rest of us.

Mariah Carey announced on her Twitter today that her iconic Christmas song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, will be turned into an animated movie!

More than two decades after its 1994 release, the hit song was previously turned into a children’s book authored by Carey and illustrated by Colleen Madden. It’s unclear whether this book will provide the basis for the upcoming movie, but Universal Studios will be producing and releasing the project.

Like the song itself, Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ is destined to become an enduring family holiday classic,” reassured Glenn Ross, general manager and executive vice president of Universal 1440 Entertainment.

Sure, my eyebrows have flown off my forehead, but it’ll be worth a watch if it’s anything like Ross promises it will be: “packed with family fun, holiday spirit, poignant moments – and of course, Mariah Carey!
