Dawn of Justice is still two months away, but that isn’t stopping Warner Bros. from planning ahead. They are reportedly already casting The Justice League Part One, the first instalment in their upcoming multi-superhero two-parter which already boasts Jason Momoa, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher and Ezra Miller.

It looks like Amber Heard could also be heading for the DC universe, if everything works out. Variety has reported that the actress is in early talks to join the cast of Zach Snyder’s upcoming superhero epic. If she does sign on, she will portray Mera, Queen of Atlantis and eventual wife of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.

This means, that not only will she make an appearance in Justice League but she’ll also play a pivotal part in James Wan’s Aquaman. So who is Mera? For those of you who are uninitiated, she is a total badass with powers ranging from super strength and the ability to bend water to her will. Here is a snippet from DC Comics official biography:

“She rules the seas alongside Aquaman, one of the most well-known heroes in the world, and stands as one of the most powerful women in the DC Universe. Her name is Mera and you don’t want to get on this quick-tempered beauty’s bad side because she won’t hesitate to kick your butt across all seven seas”.

Amber Heard can currently be seen in Oscar-nominated The Danish Girl alongside Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander. Production for Justice League Part One is set to begin this April, one month before Dawn of Justice is released – Warner Bros. are sure moving fast. While, Aquaman is currently slated for a July 27, 2018 release.
