‘American Horror Story: Cult’ Unveiled As Title Of Election Themed Season 7 | Film News

After countless clues and endless waiting, season 7 of American Horror Story has finally been given a title. American Horror Story: Cult was finally revealed Thursday night at San Diego Comic Con.

The title was revealed in dramatic fashion, a series of unsettling images projected on the waterfront. A series of clowns crop-circle in red, white and blue. Performers meanwhile walked through the crowd, pleading “join us” and handing out AHS7 pins.

It seems the tease of Twisty made on Ryan Murphy‘s instagram account is of some significance, clowns seeming a recurring theme in the upcoming season. Hives and bees also seem to be of importance.

Murphy also answered some questions from Twitter. An 11 episode season, Murphy revealed that for Evan Peters, this is his “heaviest season yet“. Not much has been revealed on Sarah Paulson‘s role, nor those of newcomers Lena Dunham, Billy Eichner and Colton Haynes, among others.

The full trailer is not yet available on line, but a clip of the clowns and title reveal can be found below. Expect more trailers to come before Season 7’s September 5 release.
