BAYLA – Monster | Music Video

After debuting on the Canadian Top 40 radio charts, reaching #24 on the Canadian Singles Chart and breaking the Top 10 chart in her hometown of Montreal, with her very first single “Turn It Around” in 2016, and with iHeartRadio crowning her its ‘Future Star’ in Canada, Montreal Pop rising star BAYLA returns with her highly anticipated follow up, and brand new single “Monster“, and its excellent Toy Story themed music video.

Produced by John Nathaniel (Marc Dupre, Alexe, Final State), ‘Monster’ is an infectious bass heavy drums-led pop offering with a gloriously resounding chorus, held together by BAYLA’s captivating vocal performance and flow. BAYLA has been teasing the single at her recent Canadian tour dates this year, to rave reviews from fans and critics alike, including stellar performances at Canadian Music Week last month, and Glowfair, one of Canada’s most popular music festivals.

For the “Monster” music video, BAYLA has collaborated with director Antonio D’Onofrio and Montreal film company Rubicon Media, and they have created a fun and colourful visual offering that realises the song’s themes of self-acceptance and living life to the fullest, that the single promotes. With an ode to the classic Toy Story film, the video captures BAYLA and her friends as toys who come to life to live their most freeing moments.

Speaking about the inspiration for “Monster”, BAYLA says, “I love to write songs that reflects my life mottos, or my ways of getting through difficult times, and ‘Monster’ is a perfect example of this. This is an anthem about loving yourself and being proud of who you are – no matter what other people think. It’s a ‘f**k you’ song for all the bullies and the haters, but at the same time, it is meant to remind us that we’re awesome, strong, and that we are MONSTER”.
