So politically charged that I did not even hear the lyrics, Eurovision was another washout for us here in the UK but in viewing figures it didn’t do so bad bouncing back from a ratings slump over recent years to increase to more than 7 million viewers.

The ratings were a boost from last year, where an average 6.6 million people watched the live show, but the ratings this year paled into comparison with the 2014 or 2011 shows, where a respective 8.8 and 9.5 million people watched the show.

It seems this show gave viewers more bang for their buck, and people seem to like it.
