With Metro previously claiming the relaunch for Top Gear had been “stalled”, show broadcaster BBC has hit back at the claims; issuing a statement that the filming for the new series is going ahead as planned. The rather insistent statement comes following reports suggesting the relaunched series with new host Chris Evans might launch later than May; leaving many fans speculating whether the series will happen at all.

The announcement confirms that “filming on Top Gear continues as planned and on schedule”, putting an end to the speculation about the show’s apparent troubles. Pictures also appeared last week of Evans looking rather unwell as he was allegedly forced to get out of a car during filming to be sick. Could the newest host suffer from travel sickness? And will he really live up to the dynamic trio of Jeremy ClarksonRichard Hammond and James May? Only time will tell…
