BBC Orders Third Series Based On J. K. Rowling’s Crime Novels | TV News

J.K. Rowling says researching serial killers for her Robert Galbraith novel Career of Evil gave her nightmare

Still very much alive and breathing after the end of the Harry Potter series, J. K. Rowling‘s success continues with her crime drama series. Based on her novels under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, the BBC has seen two successful series in The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm, and has subsequently ordered a third series to be based on Rowling’s Career of Evil.

The BBC announced the new series after the final episode of The Silkworm aired on Sunday night. Of course, Tom Burke is set to reprise his role as Cormoran Strike in the third installment of the series, a war veteran turned detective who investigates alongside his partner Robin Ellacott, played by Holliday Grainger.

Describing what’s to come in the upcoming series, the BBC comments “When a dismembered leg is sent to Strike’s office, it sends both Cormoran’s and Robin’s lives into disarray, forcing them to confront ghosts from their pasts. Their partnership reaches breaking point as Robin’s wedding approaches and they disagree about how to ensnare a man who abuses children.”

Career of Evil will be broadcast by the BBC next year.
