BBC Unveils Plans For Own Music Streaming Service | Music News
Rumours have been rife for months now that BBC were planning to take on Spotify and Apple Music with a streaming service of their own, and they have now finally been confirmed as their ambition to launch “a new music discovery service” was revealed. With an intention to champion new UK music, focusing heavily on independent artists and labels, the BBC service seems determined to use its broadcasting power to promote home-grown talent – rather than recreating the stream service monster that is Spotify.
