Conversations About Her

‘Behind The Beautiful Forevers’ At The Nation Theatre – November 2014 – April 2015 | Events

Behind the Beautiful Forevers is David Hare’s brilliant stage adaptation of Katherine Boo’s non-fiction book of the same title. It was the winner of the 2012 The National Book Award for Non-Fiction. Boo spent three years in Annawadi, a modern day slum that exists in India, the slum is a set of land belonging to the Mumbai airport. She went through the extensive tasks of recording the daily life of its residents, with her play revealing the hopes and dreams of particular individuals, as it renders of the heartbreak of the truly impossible. It is a real insight and a truly educational feast into a land where its settler’s stories are seldom told. Tickets are priced from £15 to £35, for more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
