Boy George Wonders Why ‘The Voice UK’ Didn’t Snap Him Up Sooner | TV News

The new series of The Voice UK launches on Saturday, January 9, 2016 and newly-appointed coach Boy George is wondering why he didn’t get hired sooner. In a press release, the 54 year old vocalist explains exactly why he thinks he’s the best man for the job: “I’m a singer, it’s what I have been doing for 30 years, it makes sense, so I always wondered why I hadn’t got the call to do it earlier”.

Boy George also revealed the top quality he is looking for in a contestant: emotion. The former-Culture Club frontman defines himself as “a very emotional performer” and says he is seeking the same style of performance to win a place on his team. And he seems very impressed with the contribution from fellow newby Paloma Faith, describing her as “really musical” which he thinks is “really cool”.

The Voice UK airs at 7.30pm on BBC1 on Saturday January 9, 2016.
