Even remakes aren’t safe from being remade these days, and after years of failed attempts, it finally seems that a third remake of the 1937 romantic drama A Star Is Born is going ahead. Bradley Cooper is set to make his directorial debut with the remake, which he also plans to star in. Page Six are reporting that Beyoncé is now locked in to make her big screen return as the female lead, with her last top billing credit coming back in 2009’s stalker thriller Obsessed.

Beyoncé has apparently been taking acting classes to prepare for the role, which is not set to go before cameras until late 2016 at the earliest. Meanwhile, Cooper is looking to fulfill one last acting role before committing to his directorial career, be it with A Star Is Born, or the Bart Baker novel adaptation Honeymoon with Harry, co-starring Robert De Niro, with a script by Oscar-winner Paul Haggis (Crash).
