‘Bridge Of Spies’ And ‘Carol’ Lead The Race In BAFTA Nominations | Film News

So, the members of BAFTA have cast their votes and the nominations are in. Neck and neck in first position are Bridge of Spies and Carol with 9 nominations apiece. Just behind them with 8 is The Revenant; Mad Max: Fury Road with 7; The Martian and Brooklyn both have 6; and last are The Danish GirlThe Big Short, and Ex Machina with 5 each.

 

Star Wars: The Force Awakens also makes a huge appearance, being nominated for Best Original Music, Best Special Visual Effects, Best Sound, and Best Production Design. Furthermore, John Boyega, star of The Force Awakens, has been nominated for the EE Rising Star award.

 

Looking over the categories and nominees, it is amazing to see what a year 2015 has been for film. Innumerable films will no doubt be remembered as classics and there are a plethora of emerging talent both on-camera and off. To see who reaps the spoils and who goes home empty handed, the BAFTAs will be held on February 14 via BBC One.
