BTS Break Their Own Records With New Song ‘Spring Day’ | Music News

Popular Korean boy band, BTS, are setting new records with the repackaging of their Wings album, You Never Walk Alone. The title track of the album, “Spring Day”, swept all 8 major Korean music charts almost immediately, earning the boys an all-kill. The biggest of the real-time charts, Melon, even crashed for a short while due to such high streaming numbers.

“Spring Day” is also the first K-pop song to break into the Top 10 of the US iTunes Singles Chart. Though many K-pop albums have listed on the Albums chart, this is the first time a song has made the Singles chart!

The music video for “Spring Day”, which was released simultaneously with You Never Walk Alone, has broken the record BTS set for the most views a K-pop group has achieved within 24 hours.

In under a day, “Spring Day” achieved 9.4 million views, breaking the record set by the preceding music video for “Blood, Sweat and Tears”, which achieved 6 million views in 24 hours. The 1 minute long music video teaser, released four days ago, has nearly racked up 7 million views on its own as well, a testament to the high anticipation for the repackage album and the group’s comeback.

Wings had earned the boys the Mnet Asian Music Award for Artist of the Year, one of the most prestigious awards to be received at an end of the year ceremony. Fans are anticipating how many awards You Never Walk Alone will bring home at the end of this year, and with good reason. Congratulations to BTS for their achievements with “Spring Day”!
