Cambridge Folk Festival 2014 – Thursday, 31 July – Sunday, 3 August | Events

We are excited to announce that the Cambridge Folk Festival is back this summer celebrating their 50th anniversary in the beautiful location of Cherry Hinton Hall. The festival kicks off on July 31 through to August 3 and they want to invite everyone to join them even the kiddies.

Cambridge Folk Festival is a premier music event in Europe and is one of the longest running and most famous folk festivals in the world. The festival is very proud of its eclectic array of music and its wide definition of what some consider folk. It is home to the some of the best traditional folk artists from the UK and Ireland, who rub shoulders with some cutting edge contempory artists, the finest American Country, Blues and Roots artists, acclaimed singer songwriters and world famous names.

This years headline acts include the famous Sinead O’Connor, Van Morrison, Newton Faulkner, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and many more artists. What also makes this an extremely unique and sociable festival is that they encourage attendees which have been amongst the 10,000’s to bring their own instruments so that people can start their own sessions throughout the festival, adding a real creative vibe. You can also get involved with music workshops, tai chi and healing workshops.
