Carl Barât Joining Pete Doherty In Thailand To Record New Libertines Album | Music News

Carl Barât has tweeted the news that he will be joining Pete Doherty in Thailand to begin recording the new Libertines album. It will be the first album in 11 years for The Libertines, after reuniting for a series of sell-out gigs in 2014. The album will be recorded in Karma Studios in Thailand and will be eagerly anticipated by many fans, including myself. It will hopefully be released later this year, with the band releasing a short video in December that showed them signing a record deal with Virgin/EMI. Barât has also previously stated that himself and Pete Doherty already have “five new tunes on the workbench” – raise your glasses Libertine amigos! The band released their last studio LP in 2004, their self-titled second album, through Rough Trade and have played a series of shows since their reunion last year – including London’s Hyde Park and three nights at Alexandra Palace.
