Adil Ray‘s comic creation Citizen Khan is embarking on an arena tour, and tickets go on sale today (December 17). The ‘They All Know Me!’ tour opens on May 5, 2016, at London’s SSE Arena, Wembley, before heading up north to Ray’s hometown of Birmingham, for a show on May 6, 2016, at the city’s Genting Arena. The tour ends with a date at the Manchester Arena, on May 7, 2016.

Get ready for some audience participation too, as Citizen Khan jokingly told his fans “I look forward to answering any questions on the night too and if you’re lucky I’ll have a photo taken with you unless you’re from the tax office or immigration then you can stay at home”.

The TV show started life as a one-off comedy pilot performed at the BBC Salford Comedy Showcase, before being commissioned with a prime-time slot on BBC1. 41-year old Ray also turns his hand to TV and radio presenting, and began his broadcasting career as a DJ on pirate radio. In 2013, he was nominated for the Arts and Culture Awareness prize at the British Muslim Awards.

Tickets are priced at £25 plus booking fee. For the London shows, check out the website, or contact the box office on 0844 815 0815 or 0844 824 4824. For Birmingham tickets, visit the website here, or call the box office on 0844 338 8000, and Manchester seats can be booked online here or by dialling 0844 847 8000.

If you’re feeling lucky, why not also get yourself on SRO Audiences’ mailing list, and you might just find yourself invited along to be part of the audience for the new series of Citizen Khan. The shows will be filmed in Salford’s Media City, and pre-registration for the free tickets is now open on the website.
