Charli XCX has Criticised BBC3 for broadcasting the views of a controversial men’s rights activist in a documentary which was aired on December 14.

The latest episode of Reggie Yates’ Extreme UK was titled Men At War which shows a number of men who feel that their rights are being compromised. As part of the film, Yates attended a lecture by controversial US blogger Roosh V.

Tweeting about the clip, XCX was shocked by Roosh V’s views, but also wasn’t happy that they were being broadcast at 9pm to a young demographic. “This snippet is terrifying and annoying,” she tweeted. Adding: “I made a doc for BBC3 which was shown at 10:30 on a Tuesday when a lot of my audience were unable to watch. This doc appears to be discussing feminism in an entirely negative light and is shown prime time at 9pm.”
