Charlize Theron Stars In First Trailer For Gillian Flynn’s ‘Dark Places’ | Film Trailer

With Gillian Flynn‘s novel Gone Girl making its way to the big screen, thanks to David Fincher, and blowing everyone away, it’s no surprise that her other novel Dark Places is getting a look in, now with its first international trailer. With Gilles Paquet-Brenner (Sarah’s Key) in the director’s chair, the new trailer is packed with suspicion, tension and a smorgasbord of great actors.

Starring Charleze Theron, Dark Places tells the story of Libby Day, whose entire family was massacred when she was a child, leaving her as the only survivor. Now a thoroughly damaged young woman, Libby begins to confront the damage this tragedy has done in order to find out the real truth about her family. Also starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Christina Hendrix, Nicholas Hoult, Corey Stoll,Tye Sheridan and Drea de Matteo; Dark Places boasts a seriously impressive cast.

I’ve read the book and actually enjoyed it more than Gone Girl because the story is just nuts and you become completely obsessed with the family so I had seriously high expectations for the adaptation. However, the trailer hasn’t blow me away. I don’t think it packs as much of an intriguing, disturbing punch as Gone Girl but you have to trust that that’s because they’re completely different films. Still, I am super excited to see what Paquet-Brenner has to bring to the table! Dark Places hits theatres in a limited release on April 8.
