Charlotte Gainsbourg In Talks For Crime Thriller ‘The Snowman’ | Film News

Another famous face has signed on to Tomas Alfredson‘s crime thriller The Snowman. Alfredson, famed director of the original Let the Right One In and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, has already recruited Michael Fassbender and Rebecca Ferguson for his film based on the best-selling Harry Hole series by Scandinavian author Jo Nesbø, but has now secured the services of French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The script by Matthew Michael Carnahan follows Harry Hole, a cynical, alcoholic, Harry Callahan-esque Oslo detective in his mid-40’s, as he investigates a missing persons case involving a lady’s pink scarf wrapped around the neck of a snowman; a gritty detective story in the best Nordic Noir tradition.

Gainsbourg, a frequent collaborator with the notorious Lars Von Trier, is no stranger to challenging roles and although her role for The Snowman has not been announced, we can expect a stunning performance. Michael Fassbender has been secured for the lead role of Harry Hole but Rebecca Ferguson’s role has also not been confirmed. The Snowman has no release date set as of yet.
