Fans rejoice! As everyone’s favorite Space nerf-herder will officially be joined by his beloved Wookie partner in an action packed ‘Solo’ film.

The news comes after Disney’s Bob Iger had confirmed speculations during a talk at the the Deutsche Bank 2016 Media, Internet & Telecom Conference. Here, he came to explain some of the upcoming Star Wars project currently in the works, which included info about Rogue One.

Speaking at the event (via The Wrap), he explained “’Rogue One’… is about a band of rebels plotting to steal the plans to the Death Star, it takes place right before what was George Lucas’ first film, which came out in 1977 and is now called A New Hope. We have others in the works, including one, which is an origin story about Han Solo and Chewy” Iger continued “And that’ll come after ‘Star Wars 8’ in 2018. And then there’ll be possibly be more thereafter”.

Chewbacca was originally played by Peter Mayhew during the original trilogy, who came to reprise the role for The Force Awakens. Yet, we’re still unsure if he will return for the stand alone film, or even who is playing Han Solo. But with so much Star Wars coming, it almost seems like not a single year will pass by without the franchise… Not that it’s bad thing eh?
