Chloë Moretz Stars In Akhavan’s ‘The Miseducation Of Cameron Post’ | Film Trailer

The trailer for the much anticipated movie The Miseducation of Cameron Post has finally debuted online and stars Chloë Grace Moretz in the titular role.

The winner of the Grand Jury’s prize at this year Sundance Film Festival is based on the novel of the same name by Emily M. Danforth. After getting into the circuit of several film festivals, The Miseducation of Cameron Post made its giant leap at Sundance, where it was welcomed by mostly positive reactions. The hype, then, is high for this coming of age story set in 1993 about a homosexual girl forced to therapy camp.

The synopsis of the movie follows Cameron, a young teen lesbian who is caught having sex with her high school friend by her conservative and evangelic aunt. Sent to a gay conversion therapy camp, Cameron will meet other kids struggling with their sexuality like her. Forging and seeking her own community and family, she will learn how to come to term with herself while she undertakes a journey of personal growth.

Co-written and directed by Desiree Akhavan, who blew up with her first full length feature Appropriate Behaviour, the film also stars Jennifer Ehle in the role of the strict and close-minded Dr. Lydia Marsh, Sasha Lane as Jane, Forrest Goodluck and John Gallagher Jr. as Reverend Rick, who claims to have been “cured” of his homosexuality.

The film will be released on August 3 in the USA, but will hit the UK on August 31.
