Chris Pratt And Bryce Dallas Howard Sign Up for ‘Jurassic World’ Sequel | Film News

Surprise! (Or not). Universal have announced that there is to be a sequel to the box-office topping dinosaur adventure film Jurassic World, due to be released on the 22nd of June, 2018. This does not come as much of a surprise considering how popular the film was in its’ record-stealing box office success. Having taken more than $1.5 billion worldwide, overtaking The Avengers‘ spot as the third highest-grossing film of all time. In addition to this, Jurassic World left a lot of the plot open for a sequel, as we see Dr. Henry Wu (played by BD Wong) escaping with genetic specimens from the park during the pandemonium.

We don’t know much about the sequel yet, other than as part of their contracts, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are set to return as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, and that director Colin Trevorrow and co-writer Derek Connolly are to be the scriptwriters. Trevorrow has already stated that he will not be directing the next film, so we can expect Universal to be working towards a new head of the prehistoric giant. Jurassic World 2 (We do not yet have an official title!) will be released in June 2018.
