The exclusive ticket pre-sale is this Wednesday at 9am, and tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday at 9am.

Chvrches are a Scottish electronic band, formed in 2011, consisting of Lauren Mayberry (lead vocals, additional synthesisers, samplers), Iain Cook (synthesisers, guitar, bass, vocals), and Martin Doherty (synthesizers, samplers, vocals). They came fifth on the BBC Sound of 2013 list of the most promising new music talent, and in March 2013, they released debut EP Recover. Their debut studio album The Bones of What You Believe was subsequently released in September 2013.

The band’s music style is usually tagged as electronic or synthpop, and they write, record, mix, and master their songs in a basement studio in Glasgow. They are influenced by acts such as Madonna, Eurythmics, Prince, Robyn and Kate Bush, just to name a few. There is a multitude of various talents within the band, before Chvrches, Martin Doherty was a live member of The Twilight Sad, and went to university with Iain Cook, who was a member of Aereogramme and The Unwinding Hours, and also wrote music for film and TV.

Mayberry completed a four-year law degree followed by a Masters in Journalism, which led her into a career in freelance journalism for several years prior to music. She has played piano since childhood and drums since she was a teenager. From age 15 until 22, she played drums in various bands, and was a member of two local bands, Boyfriend/Girlfriend and Blue Sky Archives. Chvrches’ new album Every Open Eye, is set to be released on September 25, and will be their second full length album. Pre-order the album and purchase any merchandise here.
