After taking a break from it all to get married and give birth to her daughter Sienna, Mrs. Russell Wilson aka Ciara returns with her first taste of new music since her 2015 album Jackie, the brilliant new single, “Level Up”.
The new joint is a high energy dance number with an infectious thumping bass which is just calling you to get up and move. But more than that, it is definitely an empowerment anthem as she encourages you do better, be better and ‘level up’ as she claims: “I turned nothing to something / My comeback on 100 / Less talkin’, more action.”
The video is really the highlight of it all as she calls upon Parris Goebel and her team Request Dance Crew, all in matching outfits, to co-star in huge choreographed dance display. All performative, all dance, it is CiCi at her absolute best.
Ciara is now readying her first album for Warner Bros. Records, which promises a return to the dance floor. “I’m supercharged to make the world dance again,” she said upon signing to the label in January 2017.
