Cliff Curtis Joins The Cast Of ‘Avatar’ Sequel | Film News

Though fans aren’t quite sure what will become of Travis Manawa on Fear the Walking Dead, Cliff Curtis just confirmed he will be busy with the next four Avatar sequels.

Curtis is set to play Metkayina, the leader of the Reef People Clan on planet Pandora. The details still remain mostly under wraps, but you can bet he’ll be important, if the news that 20th Century Fox are arranging filming to accommodate his television commitments means anything.

Director James Cameron announced plans for four new movies last month, with the first sequel, the still-untitled Avatar 2, is set for a December 2020 release. If there aren’t any other development hiatuses, hypothetically, we’re looking at seeing Avatar 3 a year later, Avatar 4 in 2024 and the final Avatar sequel in 2025.

Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and producer Jon Landau will all be returning for the sequels. Saldana confirmed earlier that she’ll be in New Zealand this summer to shoot for the film.

Looks like the mythical Avatar sequel is coming off the shelf after nearly a decade in development!
