Colin Trevorrow To Direct ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ | Film News

 

It’s seems nearly every week, there is a new announcement coming from Lucasfilm, the studio behind the Star Wars franchise, and this week is no different. At Disney’s D23 convention, the new president of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy revealed that Star Wars: Episode IX , would be directed by Colin Trevorrow, whose most recent venture includes a little film called Jurassic World, which had the biggest opening weekend at the box office in history.

 

The schedule for this re-imagination of the Star Wars franchise includes J.J Abrams‘ Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which will be released on December 18, Gareth Edwards will direct Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, hitting cinemas on December 16, 2016 and then Star Wars: Episode VIII directed by Rian Johnson for a summer release of May 26, 2017. There is also an untitled Han Solo Star Wars Anthology film to be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller to be released on May 25, 2018. Whichever way you look at it, there’s definitely alot to look forward to for every Star wars fan!
