Cumberbatch Enjoys The Magic Touch | Film News
The ever popular Benedict Cumberbatch is currently filming the magical Marvel film as the titular Doctor Strange. It appears Cumberbatch enjoys the magical element as he is now attached for more sorcery in The War Magician. The film is based on real-life magician and illusionist Jasper Maskelyne, who, along with his Magic Gang, became involved in military action along the Suez Canal in World War II.
He used ingenious and large scale illusion systems that amongst other things made tanks invisible from the air and hid buildings full of ammunition. This one has been in development for some time and currently belongs to StudioCanal with Book Of Eli writer, Gary Whitta, on screenplay duty with no director currently attached.
