Daily Holla – Yolngu | New Music
Australian electronic producer, Daily Holla, otherwise known as Harry Deadman, shares his new song, “Yolngu”. Apparently it samples and celebrates the Indigenous people of Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, as Harry is said to have grown up quite close to that very community. He perhaps has intimate knowledge most outsides could only dream of.
“Yolngu” is offbeat and quirky, before what seems like great sadness rolls in. Ringing and ominous, intermittent, muted links of guitar punctate pockets of clapping drum. Swirling soundscapes and guitar noodling greets a solo proper. The noodling, amidst other aspects of futuristic feedback, see out the track for its fadeout.
