Damien Rice – The Greatest Bastard | New Music
After an 8-years break, the Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice is back with another release: a new song taken from his upcoming LP My Favourite Faded Fantasy, titled “The Greatest Bastard”. The ballad’s mood is that of a heartbreaking loneliness, a lament embraced by a barely audible acoustic guitar and the truly doleful voice of Rice. The piano riff at the end of the song reinforces the sincere regret he feels as he sings, “I never meant to let you down”. The other previously shared songs to be included in the new album are “I Don’t Want To Change You” and the album’s title track. My Favourite Faded Fantasy will be out on November 11. Pre-orders are available here and on iTunes here. Stream “The Greatest Bastard” below, and watch a short clip that Rice posted on his Facebook page, below.
