Daniel Balk From The Postelles Starts New Project Called ‘Stray Echo’ | Music News
Exciting news! Daniel Balk is finally back on track with a fresh sound and a distinctive design. He has toured with Kings of Leon, The Kooks and many more well known bands. With his old band, The Postelles, he played concerts all around the globe but then the guys from New York decided to go new ways. Daniel started a project called Stray Echo.
“The vibe is very different. Stray Echo isn’t really a band. I perform almost all the instruments unless I have someone guest on a song. There are no limits or places I won’t go with the music. I learned how to do the production on my own which is huge, I don’t have to rely on some big expensive studio and someone else to track everything for me. It really changes everything”. He tends to do one take on most of his songs because he feels like that’s often the vulnerable performance.
When asked which emotions he wants others to feel when listening to his songs, he answered “I dont mind, I just want them to feel something. I don’t want people to just feel whatever about the music, they can be mad, sad, happy, hate it, love it, anything, I just want them to feel”.
Balk is working on a video right now with director/animator Brandt Imhoff who also did the video for his track “Ground”. “I don’t want to give too much away but it’s going to be really interesting. A little bit of a journey back in time”. We can’t wait to hear more!
