Daphne Guinness has released the visuals for “Fatal Flaw” directed by Nick Knight and the first single lifted from her forthcoming debut album, Optimist In Black, due out via Agent Anonyme/Absolute on May 27.

Daphne says the creation of the song began during sessions with co-writer Pat Donne in her native Ireland. “We went walking, and Pat nearly ate deadly nightshade. I said ‘that’s probably not a good idea’, but Belladonna is what the Egyptians used on their eyes to make them bright. That’s what inspired the song”.

The track is also be released on the shimmer-effect bonus disc of the limited edition vinyl issue of Optimist In Black. The disk will feature “Fatal Flaw” on one side, and on the flip side a ‘hidden’ etching of one of Daphne’s own original poems (viewable only when the vinyl is held up to a light). This edition will only be available through the 500 strong pressing.

My name is kira and I study Media and Communications. I live in the beautiful and wonderfully diverse city of Brighton. I've loved writing since a young child when I would write poems about my goldfish and leaves I found on the floor. (I'm hoping my writing style has slightly progressed since then!) I love listening to live music and try to go to as many gigs as possible. Follow my social media if you want to know more!
