The first season of Daredevil was a triumph for Netflix and Marvel but the stand out scene was in episode 2. This scene sees Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) hunt down a crew of thugs who’ve kidnapped a young boy, and take out the entire gang in a glorious fight sequence shot in one uninterrupted take. The stunt choreography and Murdock’s determination for justice is spectacular.

Now Charlie Cox, at a Television Critics Association press event, says the new season aims to outdo this iconic scene:

In terms of this season, there are a number of really good fights. There is one in particular that I’m really excited about because it’s kind of like an homage to that scene, but it’s almost like that scene on crack.

Jon Bernthal who will be starring in the new season as Frank Castle, The Punisher also added:

I think once you introduce a character like Frank Castle, once you introduce a character like Elektra, the stakes are raised a little bit in terms of the fighting. All of the sudden you’re talking about weapons. Different questions are being brought up. I think what is the genius of Phil Silvera, the fight coordinator and stunt coordinator who choreographs these fights, is the fights are all character-driven and the fights tell a story. It’s not just to look pretty or to look cool.

Season 2 sounds pretty exciting but it will have to be something very special to outdo the hallway scene. You can remind yourself of the great hallway fight scene from season 1 below:

Daredevil season 2 arrives on Netflix March 18, 2016.
