Dave Grohl announced some fantastic news to lucky fans on the second weekend of their two headlining Austin City Limits gigs. To the amazement of the crowd, Grohl smugly broadcasts: “You know what I did last night?… I recorded a f**king song in your beautiful city of Austin, Texas… And I’m just gonna say it now: We recorded five fucking new songs in your beautiful city of Austin, Texas“. Despite being teased with this exclusive news, the audience weren’t over-spoiled with hearing their new track live. This was until the former Nirvana man dropped another knowledge bomb on the crowd.

One of the collaborators on the band’s new track, Ben Kweller, was welcomed onto stage after an exciting intro from Grohl: “Just by chance, I bumped into an old friend that I hadn’t seen in about 16 years… Right as I was recording a vocal. This motherfucker walks in — I’m like, ‘Hey, man!’ — and he starts f**king singing the most beautiful harmony to the thing I was singing. I was like, ‘Get your ass in the vocal booth right now’. And then he said, ‘Hey, if you want, I’ll come up and sing a song with you tonight’”.
