Demi Lovato

A large majority of women and girls aren’t happy with their body. One of the primary causes of this is the media and the way in which it represents women: make-up and photo edits can transform an ordinary woman into a picture of perfection. Demi Lovato decided to challenge that ideal and promote confidence by doing a nude photoshoot, sans make-up and photo enhancements with Vanity Fair.

The title of Lovato’s upcoming album is Confident and, like the shoot, “finally represents who I truly am” since the singer used to despise her body and suffer from eating disorders. Lovato revealed that getting photographed in such a way was “empowering and it shows other women that you can get to a place where you can overcome the obstacles of body image issues, and you can feel comfortable and confident in your skin”.
