Disney Dreams Come True For Sugababes’ Jade Ewen | Music News

Sugababes’ Jade Ewen has landed the leading role of Jasmine in the new stage production of Aladdin. Based on the Disney film, the TONY-award winning musical is heading to UK shores next Summer, following a successful run on Broadway. Boasting some impressive names on its CV, the production features members of the creative teams behind hit shows such as The Book Of Mormon, Beauty And The Beast and The Lion King.

Aladdin will be played by Dean John Wilson, who was a semi-finalist in Britain’s Got Talent, in 2008. Ewen recently posted a photo on Twitter of herself being fitted for her Jasmine wig. The 27 year old is no stranger to treading the boards, though, as she’s currently starring in the West End musical In The Heights. Back in 2009, Ewen represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest with a song entitled “It’s My Time”. She finished 5th, making her one of the more successful UK Eurovision acts.

Disney’s Aladdin opens at London’s Prince Edward Theatre in June 2016.
