Florida hip hop producer DJ Khaled has shared “For Free”, featuring superstar rapper Drake on vocals. The track features production from Nineteen85 and Jordan Ullman from duo Majid Jordan.
The song samples lyrics and cadences from Too Short’s “Blow the Whistle” and interpolates Akinyele’s “F**k Me For Free”. Drake takes multiple lyrical references to Kendrick Lamar’s “For Free”, saying “like your boy from Compton said, this s**t ain’t free“. It’s the first single from Khaled’s latest project Major Key, which is slated to feature artists like Future, Kanye West and Lil Wayne.
