Drake Claims That ‘Views’ Has Sold 630,000 Copies In One Night | Music News
The view from where Drake is sitting must be looking pretty good right about now. The Canadian rapper has claimed that his latest album, Views has sold a staggering 630,000 copies in one night.
Speaking at the album launch party in Toronto Drake told his audience;
“I got a text message that we sold like 630,000 something records in one night,” he announced to the hometown crowd. “That’s the first time I’ve ever done that shit.”
The album, which was released on Thursday, is still an Apple Music Exclusive and will remain so for another week until it is released to all other digital retailers the week after.
If the numbers are true then it would suggest that Drake has beat Beyonce, who released her album Lemonade last week, to get the bigger first week sales for an album this year. Lemonade reached the top of the U.S Billboard chart this week after selling 500,000 copies in one week alone.
What a time to be alive.
