Drake Continues To Break Streaming Numbers with ‘Views’ | Music News

Drake’s fourth album is continuing to make history in terms of chart performances and streams.

 

The star’s album Views has spent four consecutive weeks at the Billboard number 1, the longest album by a male artist in four years; with the last man being Michael Buble with his Christmas album which spent 5 weeks in 2011.

 

It has also been reported that Drake’s third-week streaming numbers have been greater than any other artist’s first-week streaming figures ever! In its first week Views attained 245 million streams, which beat the previous record of 115.2 million streams set by Beyonce’s Lemonade. During its second week its streams amounted to 141 million (still beating Lemonade’s first week figures).Its third week the album was made available on other streaming services which increased its figures to 186 million streams. Now in its fourth week, 166.2 million streams have been made beating Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman to enter at number 2 on the Billboard Charts.

 

Over here in the UK his single “One Dance” has also made history as it has become the longest running number 1 in nearly 9 years. It has spent 8 weeks in top position on the UK Official Singles Chart, defeating the former record setter which was X-Factor winner Leona Lewis’s “Bleeding Love”, which spent 7 weeks in 2007.
