Drake’s ‘God’s Plan’ Breaks Spotify Streaming Record | Music News

It looks like everything Drake touches is turning to gold. Congratulations are in order to the Toronto rapper as his newly released EP Scary Hours has performed impressively, breaking the streaming platform Spotify’s U.S. record for most streams in a single day.

The new EP was revealed to the public via social media shortly before its official release on January 19 and was comprised of only two songs, “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity”. The single “God’s Plan” in particular broke the record, clocking an impressive 4,326,679 streams on the release day.

Drake took to Instagram to celebrate his achievements as well as share congratulations with NBA star LeBron James who, in a totally unrelated story, cemented his place in basketball history by reaching an impressive 30,000 career points.

Both singles are expected to contribute to a fuller project which we hope will be released later in the year. If you haven’t already, have a listen to the new EP below.
