Luminous is the forthcoming EP from rising star, Draper, and is due for release on Friday, January 13. In support of this he has released its second track, “Jealous”, featuring BB Diamond, in video form. The latter has been backing singer for the likes of Katy B, Ella Henderson and Jess Glynne.
“Jealous” is emphatic, soulful and life affirming. The piano rings, the drums clap and the vocals get down, deep and moody. Sassy and ballsy, definitely. Then flourishes of rock guitar give it extra spirit and punch. The hook is chopped and processed; big, bold and maybe a tad futuristic. Soul reborn in another age?
The video, given the aforementioned hook, is suitably futuristic and luminous. Colourful and bright, indeed. It, arguably, takes influence from films like Tron and Blade Runner. All in video are mere outlines, however colourful. Then their human form because more distinct as it progresses. Key lyrics are also come to be onscreen, though not all like in a lyrics video.
