Drew Pierce Confirms ‘Ghostbusters’ Spin Off, Possibly Starring Chris Pratt And Channing Tatum | Film News

A little while after Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters film was announced, rumours started that Sony Pictures was working separately on another Ghostbusters movie which would possibly be lead by the two most in-demand actors of today – Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum. Feig has stated that he has nothing to do with this picture, but we can guess that Sony Pictures are thinking they can overshadow Feig’s with this new film.

When Chris Pratt was asked about his involvement in this film, he denied knowledge of the films’ existence. However, today MTV caught up with screenwriter Drew Pierce (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Iron Man 3) who stated that another Ghostbusters film project DOES exist, and that the script has been completed.

I’ve finished my work on that in the last couple weeks. Obviously it’s top secret, but there’s a gigantic bold idea that I came up with, and the Russo brothers — who did Captain America: The Winter Soldier and are doing Civil War at the moment — and Ivan Reitman, who did the original movie, are going to take that and run with it. Obviously I cannot tell you what it is, but hopefully in one year’s time you’ll know”.

On Tatum and Pratt, he added: “That’s definitely the cast we’ve been thinking about as we approach the project. Whether that happens or not is very much above my pay grade. It’s just my job to give them something exciting that maybe they’ll do”. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what unfolds. For now though, Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters is set for a July 22 release.
