Eddie Redmayne Describes Hawking Story As ‘Extraordinary’ | Film News

Actor Eddie Redmayne stars as the famous physicist Stephen Hawking in the upcoming film Theory of Everything. The Les Miserables star said to BBC News: “To tell a story as extraordinary as this and depict someone as charismatic, brilliant and funny as Stephen was totally the dream. But with it came high stakes so it was a mixture of a dream and utter fear“.

Theory of Everything is a British biopic drama directed by James Marsh and penned by Anthony McCarten. The film is inspired by Jane Hawking’s memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen Hawking. According to James Marsh, after seeing the film, Hawking lent his voice to the project which meant that the computerized voice originally created by the production team didn’t need to be used.

The film follows the theoretical physicist’s relationship with his wife, his diagnosis and his success in the field of physics. Felicity Jones, Charlie Cox, Emily Watson and David Thewlis also star. Theory of Everything will be released on November 7 in the US and January 1, 2015 in the UK.
